Power to Heal

Dear Brethren,

A while days ago one of the saints in our assembly contacted me on the phone. He hurt his back severely a few days previously and wanted advice concerning somebody who could maybe help him find some relieve from the pain.

As we were talking and sharing Christ, he told me that he was experiencing a very strange sensation like pricking needles but that he could not actually describe it. It was a sensation he had not experienced before.

We continued our conversation and shared how God is drawing faith from our hearts through these manifold graces. While we were talking, he continually referred to the strange feeling, and told me that he will continue to ask the Lord for healing.

The next day he contacted me to tell me that his back was healed. He woke up at about 3 that night, got up and while praying, he experienced the same sensation as when we were talking the previous day. The morning when he got up his back was healed. A lump that appeared after he injured his back, was gone. A few days later when I spoke to him again he was still without pain and he told me that another medical condition he suffered from, for quite a while, was also starting to heal.

What we both experienced, while sharing with one another, is the fact that even though God healed him, and we praise Him for that, the emotional sensation that we found in miracle healings, before coming into covenant with God, is not present any longer. What we long for is for Christ to be formed within us daily. The healing and all the other things that God may favor us with, are a token of His mercy upon the lives of those who love Him by keeping His commandments. We praise God for His mercy upon His children.

Without the discernment of grace and truth believers tether themselves to the false prophets that promise great things for the church with all God’s promises to be fulfilled according to their own imagination and aspiraions. Jesus warned against this in Mar 13:22, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”

We thank God for His healing power that brings healing to our souls through His grace and truth and gives us the discernment to keep us from the wiles of Satan. What a wonderful God we serve. There are so much that we still got to learn from Him. We are awaiting the unfolding of His plan for mankind according to His time frames with great joy and excitement while we continue to labor in faith, allowing Him to return us to the nature of His Son.

May the peace of our Lord be with you as we proceed in Him. He is in control. Thank God for His love and His long suffering with His children.
