Christ Helps for the Battlefield of the Mind

Question? Jesus Christ said love your neighbor as yourself…So when conflict arises what do we do?

When conflict arises we always want to be like Jesus Christ in what we think and what we do. Because that is what we do. So where does the struggle begin and how do we deal with it. The struggle begins with the imagination and we immediately find ourselves trying to set order to our thinking. Trying to make a rite out of a wrong for our peace and comfort.

I was thinking what Jesus Christ did when Pilot, Herod, the Pharisees and Sadducees accused Him. Jesus spoke with silence to where even Pilot marveled. I was thinking there was God the creator of them and the universe sitting before them being accused of folly and Jesus held His peace.

We do the same when we are faced with these many challenges daily. We do not owe Satan an answer and keep Christ in our thoughts. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves. To love our neighbor requires to sow peace.

With the imagination of our thoughts I realized they are always changing because as said in Proverbs, “No man knows his own heart it is deceitful above all things”. And this is very true that I have seen in my own self. Every day that passes by we feel different about things. Even a few hours pass by and it is like, “Oh yea I remember thinking about that but cant remember why I was so troubled.” This is why we don’t put capital on what our heart tell us, and let our imagination and emotions run loos with the wind of aspiration. We keep a tight lid or lock on the that gate. Because this is where Satan will come and take us captive if we don’t.

Another thing is I noticed is when we occupy ourselves with the thoughts of our mind is we will become enslaved by them. Meaning they take us captive. So why do I bring this up? Because this is where Satan will take us captive. If our thoughts are not on Christ they will begin to have rule offer us and we become anxious because we feel we just do not have enough time for all this. We begin to divide our time in many things. But it comes rite down to it. We have 2 choices…the World or Christ.

The things of the world loose there power when we busy ourselves with the things of God. It is the things of Christ that are incorruptible, will never perish, never fade away, never grow old and will never diminish. We are pure and perfect faith before God when we are embracing Christ. Christ is only holy not all these worldly issues that will pass away. But as Jesus said my world will not pass away. The things of the world looses their power when we busy ourselves with the things of Christ.

It is the things that corrupt the carry no value. I was thinking how I have gone my whole life thinking it always has to be done this way but i realized it was just in my imagination, their was no power or life sustaining substance in it. Jesus said sell all that you have and give to poor. Jesus was telling the rich man if you die to yourself then you shall be risen with me. Jesus is the only one who had risen Himself from the dead and when we take on His virtue we are also risen with Him Spiritually.

Where our treasure is so will our heart be also. We value what God value by keeping the thoughts of our mind on Christ. When we water our emotions with the imagination then Christ will become distant and our perspective gets cloudy.

Satan has many faces with the issues of the world to distract us and divide our time. When Satan introduces a new theme to the imagination it is again another choice of faith. If our thoughts are divided with the world, then when Christ comes we wont be able to stand. Our soul needs comfort and peace and if we divide ourselves in the many ways to find peace we will become yoked with the many questions paradoxes. Saddened because we cannot resolve them, and when we think we may finally achieved rest, another one arises. This is how Satan rules in our imagination, but Christ has given us His knowledge and His grace, and His covenant to reflect on.

Christ said fear not my little flock it is my kingdom that i give unto you. Take not thought upon tomorrow let tomorrow take care of itself. Christ saws all i require you to do is behold me in your thoughts and your prayers. This is why we serve the Lord in silence being quick to hear and slow to speak. It is about choosing because Christ did the same thing when he took pleasure about doing the will of God.

When the storm came they awoke Jesus to settle the waters, as the waters of the soul. I noticed Jesus didn’t scream and stomp His foot at the Devil. All Jesus said with a quiet and soft voice, “peace be still. As with Christ we do the same thing. The Holy Spirit within us is the same thing when he speaks unto us to do righteousness. This is how we serve God in silence.

Remember the march around Jericho. They also marched in silence. I noticed they didn’t plead the blood and scream at Satan. They marched at the time and manner of how God said to. They did not question God and waited for His timing. We work with Gods timing with the should of the faith.

Many Christians today try to make Christianity into a hummer as like what comedians do. The question is where are they taking our mind to? Where are they taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to? Is this what the twelve apostles did? By making our life into a comedy it may feel good on the conscience but their is no peace, no understanding heart, and no fruit of Christ. We make time for God by guarding our thoughts. We are responsible for the moment not what happening down the line for our peace and security. Choosing faith is what we do for the moments.

Amen Apostle David, I was

Amen Apostle David,

I was very edified and encouraged by your posting. Some very good reflection.

"Blessed are they who seek their comfort in The Lord, for as they consume their minds with Grace and truth, His peace shall fill the caverns of their souls.

"By reflecting on Christ we restrict the imagination, and therefore shield our minds from the wiles of Satan.

For your edification, peace and strength.
